Happy Birthday GIVEAWAY - CLOSED

Guess what, people? My birthday is exactly 3 weeks away on December 28th. I won't tell you my age b/c I feel so old. But to celebrate my upcoming birthday, I want to give out presents! Yes, I'm GIVING out presents! I must be crazy, right? (Maybe my senile-ness is starting early :P)

If you can't tell already, I love fairy tales. Dystopians, too. Hence, my WIP is a combination of both.

So what does this have to do with my giveaway?
One person will get to win 2 books of their choice (1 fairy tale-related, 1 dystopian) - under $25
One person will win 1 fairy tale-related book of their choice - under $12.
One person will win 1 dystopian book of their choice - under $12.
A total of 4 books given away.
A total of 3 lucky winners.

Here are some fairy tale examples if you have trouble coming up with one:

Here are some dystopian examples if you have trouble coming up with one:

If you have trouble coming up with a fairy tale-related book, I can be lenient and let you pick something that can be mythology-related like:

To enter, answer this question: "What is your favorite fairy tale or dystopian novel and why?" Remember to include your email address so I can contact you if you win.

But wait.

Do you want more entries?
Then you can.
How?

I have a weekly post called "Fairy Tale Friday" which I blog about anything fairy tale related. For every meaningful comment you leave on these posts, you get an extra entry. Just remember to come back to THIS post and comment on which one you left a meaningful comment on. So far, I have 8 "Fairy Tale Friday" posts so you can get 8 extra entries. I will continue to post more so you can come back next time and comment.

Anyone (US and International) can enter as long as Book Depository ships to you.
Deadline: December 28th, 12pm EST

Have fun!

Awesome giveaway! :) I really liked Beastly, but I also like to stick to the original tales from the Brother's Grimm :D My favorite dystopian is definitely Divergent, with Shatter Me at a close second!

I would totally love most of the books you have pictured. Thx for the opportunity!!! :-)

Hey, thanks so much! This is a really great giveaway. So far the only dystopian I've read and really enjoyed has been Shatter Me. And my favorite fairytale...hmm, that's a tough one. I really enjoyed Francesca Lia Block's book, The Rose and The Beast, but I haven't read that one in the while. It's a short collection of fairytales retold, but it's great. :)

Happy early birthday! ^_^

My favourite dystopian would probably be The Hunger Games. Or 1984. (1984 counts, right?) About fairy tales... hmmm... I don't know, perhaps the fairy tales my grandmother used to read to me when I was little.

My favorite dystopian novel is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It contains harsh themes that aren't so far-fetched in today's world.

Well, I read a fairytale-retelling of Cinderella earlier this year, called SHADOWS ON THE MOON. Definitely a worthwhile read, especially if you're sick of how spineless the 'real' character Cinderella is, and want a fresh spin on the well-known fairytale. The book is also bursting with magic and mystery and action.

On the flipside my favourite dystopian has to be DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth. I haven't yet read THE HUNGER GAMES (though I will be soon!) so we'll see how it compares. That said, I've read my share of dystopians, considering how many are being published right now.

Thank you so much for the giveaway! I think the decision to be exclusive to fairytales and dystopians is pretty cool. ;) Keep at it, and happy birthday!

I like almost all of the dystopian novels I've read this year, since each one was unique with gripping plots and characters. When I think about the fairy tales/retellings I've read this year, I immediately remember Malindo Lo's Ash. With an original take on Cinderella, the book had lyrical descriptions and natural dialogue. Ash, the "Cinderella," can also stand up for herself, unlike many of her counterparts. Ash was truly amazing!

What an awesome giveaway! My latest favorite is both a fairy tale AND dystopian - Cinder by Marissa Meyer! Guys, it is so stupid good. I think I may have to delve into the fairy tale spin-offs for a while. I've forgotten how much I enjoy them. :)

What is your favorite fairy tale or dystopian novel and why?

oooh... My favorite dystopian is easy... definitely Divergent by Veronica Roth, it had the right mix of romance and action to be pure suspense to read, fairytale is a little harder... I liked Beastly by Alex Flinn, Beauty by Robin McKinley, The Swan kingdom by zoe Marriott was AMAZING!

Oooh! What an awesome giveaway. And I love the idea of fairy tale fridays! I will definately have to check that out. Let's see...my favorite fairy tale or dystopian. Hmm...there are so many that its hard. haha I am gonna go with Dystopian on this one and my pick would be Matched by Ally Condie. I remember going to a book convention earlier this year, and hearing all these bloggers talk about dystopian books. I was not a blogger at the time, and had no clue what they were all talking about. So I just nodded my head and uttered a lot of "oh yeah that was great!" and pretended like I knew exactly what they were talking about. As soon as I got home, I actually googled Dystopian books. No joke! lol The first one I tried was Matched and I was hooked, and not just on the genre! It really is an amazing and captivating genre and the book was incredible as well. I loved that the main character wanted to break free from the mold, and step out of her comfort zone. She was strong and independant, and she followed her heart where ever it led her!

My favorite dystopian novel is the hunger games series by Suzanne Collins. It has so many things that you would want in a dystopian novel. It is full of action, a crazy society, heartwarming, and parts that make you cry. I especially like the two songs Collins wrote because they are significant to the novel.
